| Greg D.'s manifolds and the downpipe assembly theories seem to have some contradictions about them that has left me confused on what to do for my manifolds.  I have my manifolds ready to final-weld the turbo flange and pipe flange, as well as the pipe reinforcing tabs to go with it.  But I am lost on how to weld these things together. In this picture, you can see that the pipes are welded to the outside of the flange on Greg's manifolds:
  But in Greg's recent (and past posts) concerning the design of the downpipes, it was found that the best assembly process is to weld on the inside of the pipe and the port of the flange as pictured below: 
 I am in no way trying to make any disputes in regard to how Greg has chosen to assemble his parts - I am sure there is proven logic behind these differences and that is all I am trying to discover.   I am trying to make a decision on which process I should use for my manifolds.. Thanks!
